All officers must possess a current Guard Card to work at any security assignment in California.

In addition to Guard Card Training, 16 hours of training is mandatory to work, 16 more hours of training within 6 months, and 8 hours of additional training each year. 

Cal Saga subjects are California state approved self-paced courses that may take only a few hours, but up to 4 hours per course.  Persons not completing any Cal Saga course by 2:30 pm must return to finish within seven days of starting the course.

Training Packages and Certification

Mandatory Package:                                                     $195                                       

SNP policy is that all officers must complete the following Mandatory courses prior to any security assignment (16 hrs).Courses normally $55 each. Save $ 35. (Does not include guard card).

Public Relations - 4hrs (Cal Saga)
Observation & Documentation - 4 hrs (Cal Saga)
Communication & Its’ Significance - 4 hrs (Cal Saga)
Liability & Legal Aspects - 4 hrs (Cal Saga)

BSIS Mandatory Officer Package:                               $350                             

Combines Guard Card Package and Mandatory Package.
Save $45                                                           

Entertainment Professional Package:                      $195                            

Courses, in a addition to Mandatory Courses, which must be completed to work SNP events, specials, and premiers and entertainment assignments (12 hrs). Courses normally $85 each.  Save $60.

Emergency Response Team Package:                         $195                             

Courses, in a addition to Mandatory Courses, specialized training must be completed to be hired for the Emergency Response Team (16 hrs).
4 hour courses normally are $55 each and 2 hour courses normally are $35 each. Save $55.
